製造はMUVNAという中国のブランドで、コーヒー関連器具(スケールやグラインダーやケトル、エスプレッソのタンパー、カップやパラゴンのような冷やす用途の玉などなど)を、言葉を選ばずに書くと節操なく販売しています。「節操がない」と書いたのは、他ブランドで見かけた商品のブランドロゴ違いのような商品をよく見るから(どちらが先でどちらが後か、ではないです)。そんな中で、MUVNAがオリジナルだと思われるドリッパーを見かけて買ってみました。
このMUVNAのドリッパーの特徴はその形状です。見たまんまですが、ウェーブフィルターのウェーブの形状になっています。155サイズのウェーブフィルターがぴったりハマり、ドリッパーとペーパーが一体化します。抽出穴はひとつで、形状的にはApril Brewerに似ているかな、というところ。抽出については、流速は早いです。細めに挽いて流速を普通(蒸らしを含めてトータル2分くらい)にして使うことが多いです。ウェーブフィルターをぴったり貼り付けることが容易なので、ペーパーによる変数(ブレ)はかなり少ないと感じています。リンスアシストツールを使わずにペーパーを貼り付けられるのは、かなり楽ですね。エアブラシで吹きつけたようなカラーリングもかなり好みです。
このブランドを含め、新興ブランドがどれだけオリジナルの商品を販売するか、はそのブランドの今後を想像する上で大事なことだと思ってます。けっこう好きなブランドなので、期待してます。

The manufacture is a Chinese brand MUVNA, which sells coffee-espresso equipment (scales, grinders, kettles, espresso tampers, cups, balls for cooling applications such as paragons, etc.) It’s not nice to say it but … inconsistent. The reason why because I often see products that look like different brand logos of products I’ve seen in other Chinese brands (It’s not a matter of order). In this situation, I found the dripper that I thought MUVNA was the original and bought it.
What makes the dripper unique is its shape. As you can see, it is shaped like the wave of a wave filter; a 155-size wave filter fits perfectly and the dripper and paper become one. It has a single extraction hole, which is similar to the April Brewer in shape. Regarding extraction, the flow rate is fast. I often use it with a fine grind and normal flow rate (about 2 minutes total including steaming). I find that it is easy to stick the wave filter on snugly, so the variables (blurring) caused by the paper are quite small. It is much easier to apply the paper without using the rinse assist tool. I also quite like the coloring, which looks like it was sprayed on with an airbrush.
I think it’s important to imagine how much original products emerging brands, including this brand, will sell in the future. I like this brand a lot, so I have high expectations for MUVNA.
