メリタの陶磁器ドリッパー(メリタ的にはフィルターと呼ぶ)の第2世代は4つ穴です。資料によれば1938年から1950年代前半に作られたモデルで、この時期からMelittaのロゴのデザインが現在のものになっています。ホルダーの裏側にパテント(特許)の情報が書かれたモデルは第2世代の早い年に作られたモデルだろうと言われています。このモデルはそれらの情報がないので、おそらく1950年前後のモデルかな、と推測しています。ただし、この時代のモデルに書かれたロゴは緑色が多いので、この青緑文字で書かれたモデルが何なのかは分かっていません。ヴィンテージの良いところの理由のひとつは、ロゴが手書きで微妙な違いがあるのが分かったときですね。
抽出については抽出穴が4つで流速が早そうですが、実際のところ2つくらいの穴からしか落ちません。この次の第3世代では抽出穴が3つと1つ減るので、最適化されていく歴史を辿っていけます。

The second generation of Melitta ceramic drippers (called filters by Melitta) are four-holes. According to document, this model was made from 1938 to the early 1950s, and the design of the Melitta logo has been current since this period. The model with patent information on the back of the holder is said to have been made in the early years of the second generation. Since there is no such information on this model, we assume that it was probably made around 1950. However, I do not know what this model with blue-green letters is, because most of the logos written on the models of this period are green.
As for extraction, it looks like it has four extraction holes and a fast flow rate, but in reality it only falls through about two holes. In this next third generation, there will be three extraction holes and one less, so we can follow the history of optimization of Melitta.
